Yoga

My Approach

My teaching is grounded in mindful movement, breath, and body awareness. Whether you're seeking stillness or flow, classes are designed to meet you where you are—offering a space to connect with yourself through accessible, anatomy-informed practice.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga is typically a meditative, floor-based practice where postures are held for several minutes to gently target the body’s Yin tissues—connective tissues such as fascia, ligaments, and tendons. This stillness supports myofascial release and cultivates a deeper awareness of the body.

As a Chinese medicine practitioner, I expand the definition of yin yoga to include practices that embody Yin qualities such as slowness, introspection, and presence. These may include meditation, visualisation, gentle breathwork, or slow, intentional movement.

Class sequences are thoughtfully designed to align physical postures with Chinese medicine principles, drawing on Channel Theory or Five Phase Theory to support not only the physical body but also energetic, emotional, and mental wellbeing.

Vinyasa Yoga

At its core, vinyasa yoga links movement with breath. It encompasses a range of styles and lineages, but for me, it’s a dynamic and adaptable flow—one that can be energising or grounding, depending on the intention and intensity of the practice.

Integrating principles such as reciprocal and autogenic inhibition, I design sequences that gradually open the body and encourage exploration. You’ll be offered options to modify or deepen each posture, with a focus on how it feels in your body—not how it looks.
